It is our great pleasure to invite you to another event of the new project "Role Models in Medicine" which will take place on 9th of May at 17:00 in the Small Left Lecture Hall at Motol University Hospital.

Our special guest will be MUDr. Marta Horáková. In a field that is dominated by males, she is the Chief Surgeon at Pisek Hospital. Having grown up in the UAE, Dr. Horáková speaks English, Arabic, French, and Czech. In 1996, she moved to the Czech Republic and started her medical career, studying at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine. After her graduation, she specialised in General Surgery and then later in Paediatric Surgery at the Kladno Regional Hospital. Over the years, she has spent several months training at Motol University Hospital and at Thomayer Hospital. She also did parts of her training abroad in the Middle East. Recently she has expanded the Surgical Department at Pisek Hospital to also include Paediatric Surgery.

Dr. Horáková also has a great passion for travelling and has many stories to share from her trips around the world. She loves to be spontaneous and has backpacked throughout Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Greece, Italy, and Madagascar.

During her lecture, Dr. Horáková will take us through her career in medicine and her experiences leading the surgical department in Pisek. She’ll share with us some of her stories from her travels, as well as her times working abroad.
Take this opportunity to meet such an inspirational woman.
There will also be room for all your questions :)

We're looking forward to seeing you all there!
